Square illustrated map of Oslo by Anna Simmons, with hand lettering and a mix of natural, historical, and urban locations in greens, blues, and warm tones

Visual Mapping: A Unique Take on Oslo

This hand-illustrated map of Oslo was originally made for a travel magazine, inspired by how water and nature flow through the city. I used a palette of soft blues and greens, layered like a watercolor painting, to reflect that calm, open feeling. It includes landmarks like Akershus Fortress, the sculptures of Frogner Park, and the creative corners of Grünerløkka—all woven together to capture the atmosphere of the city.
